Hey everyone!

I was rummaging through my school folders - animation folders to be more precise - and found my college senior project back from 2011. It's a short film based on Isaac Asimov's story, 'Robbie' on which my whole class had to work together.

I was responsible for designing some of the characters, and pretty much everything else along with my friend. Then the rest of the class took care of modeling, rigging etc.
You might have seen some of my pieces here on DA, but if anything they are shown in end credits as well.

All in all it was a fun experience. Not bad for 11 weeks of work if I must say : P

Perhaps there aren't that many things to update on as... well not much has changed so far be it personal life, or professional. I think I've mentioned that the animated movie I worked on is officially on hold and I'm not sure what will happen next. With that in mind I have returned to commissions. It's coming along alright for the time being, though I hope to get my foot back in the professional industry sometime soon.

As I mentioned sometime ago, one of my books is now finished and I am currently at the editing stage; hoping to be done and finally publish it, be it traditional or self. Right now, I think I might end up doing it on my own. I don't suppose anyone could point me to a good agent that deals with fantasy?

So, with that nearing completion I am also preparing to send off another copyright application. Lotta drawing, and soon a lot of writing stuff up for another species.

All in all I feel like this might be quite an important year in quite a few aspects of my life.

I have to admit, I did not expect picking the top 3 pieces would be this hard.
So, after going back and forth, judging every aspect of the pieces that I could, I proudly announce the winners : )

It is really obvious that a lot of effort and planing went into this one. I love the atmosphere and almost - for a lack of better expression - movie like feel of what's going on - such as the characters in the distance ready to join the fight.

2nd


This one has been one of my favs from the start. It portrays the character's spirit quite well, not to mention the light breeze I almost feel looking at the painting.

3rd


The hardest one to pick really, from all the remaining favs. In the end the fashion sense, the story and clean lines won me over.

Just wanted to thank everyone for suggestions.

I didn't get to listen to all of them yet, and I won't until I get back home. Can't believe the 4 weeks is almost up.

Some of you may remember me saying that the first draft of my prequel, currently titled 'Remnants of Necromancy' (thinking of something better) has been finished few weeks ago. Right now I'm trying to find the will and inspiration - not to mention try and get better in writing - to edit it.

   I was hoping someone could point me to some music that could help. Currently the best source of my inspiration is skyrim ost, so anything similar would be great. I'm going to definitely love hobbit ost from what I heard so far, so this will be another one in my writing library.

  I do need music with that sort of fantasy character, as simple classical pieces don't work, and I've tried quite few.

  Aside of that, I'm also slowly preparing to go back to Chicago. I haven't seen my family since my granpa passed away and I can't help but feel like things might be little awkward at first. And of course leaving here will be once more a very hard thing to deal with. It's been all a mix of feeling great here, but then dealing with the fact I won't see my granpa when i go to poland next time, including the fact I've seen him 2 times in last 10 years along with my granma. I guess what makes it so difficult is also this being the first death of close family I've experienced.
  But yes, anyway, will be home next week and settling back in old routine, doing more drawing. I do have a couple of things to scan and few little commissions to do.

   As far as my job goes, I'm still not sure what's going on, and would hope to hear some good news soon. If anything I'll have to keep searching, and building my portfolio. Will take on more commissions as well. Right now they are open if anyone is interested.

Hey guys!

Just wanted to post a little update on what's going on and of course thank everyone for dropping by with bday wishes : ) You guys are awesome.

As far as what's going on, well, I'm once again in England visiting my sweetheart. Taking little commissions here and there as our movie project is currently on hold ( hopefully not much longer) and enjoying myself.

First weekend was little difficult due to a death in family back in Poland, but I think I've come to terms with it already. What made it harder is that I've been back there 2 times in 10 years, and the fact I won't have another chance to see my granpa when I go maybe next year.

Guess that's all for now. Again, my activity will be rather scarce during my stay and I'll be home before xmass.

Hello everyone!

I know I'm running late with this contest, and that's because now I am not sure whether or not I should still let people choose between drawing any of my existing easkull characters/drawing the ones from the story I still haven't drawn/making up their own.

The main reason for this is that as the species creator I will have to note that I will be retaining the right to 'take inspiration' from the created designs. Meaning I can use a similar colors and patterns regardless of the fact if I was looking at the design or just made it up.

At this point you can choose between drawing existing or new one.

Let me know what you guys think so I can get to it.

I didn't think my recent upload would get so much attention. I tried to keep up with all the comments (to which I still have some to reply to) and favs and watches.

Due to the lack of time and ongrowing workload as the movie production is progressing I won't be able to thank for all the watches personally. That's why I wanted to thank everyone in this journal. Thank you for your kind words, your interest and for watching!

I hope my upcoming work will not be disappointing : )

Well, I had to come home sooner or later. It's been some of the best two and a half months of my life. Worst part is always the goodbye. I can't emotionally stand leaving someone dear.

Hopefully it won't be long till we see each other again.

It is still on, but before I make it official I need to do a bit updated reference first, and then write up basic descriptions of the characters from my book.

So this is it, next week this time I'll be waking up in my own bed for the first time in 2.5 months. It's all bittersweet right now, having to leave my sweetheart for the next few, but I guess there's little we can do at the time but hang on.

In any case, the next time you see another journal from me I'll be writing from there. Things go back to normal, I'm continuing my job, going back to family pets...and my life overall.

Now, I've been planning this for a while, but only now I think I can actually go forward with it.

I'm still not sure when and what, probably after I get home and see if there's any ACTUAL interest at all.

It will be a full color drawing contest. Not sure about backgrounds yet. If it's any particular character of the race or sort of designing random guys for me to choose for the book. That actually is a good idea. I got few guys in the story that still have no face in visual terms. So maybe that's what I'll go with.

Now, as for the prizes.

1st place 80-100$ cash prize

(paypal only though) then few runner ups. I got some points stashed away as well. I'd gladly take any donations to give out more points prizes. I don't have anything setup yet, but I'll see.

I guess this whole thing is a little (and way overdue) celebration of finally getting the copyright registration on them.

Hope everyone's doing well and having great summer. I've had a week of so of amazing weather, but now it's back to the English summer once more : P

Things have been busy both vacation and work wise...  more trips. I finally got to go to London and just really enjoyed a bit of that summer. While there, I got to meet the director of our project and two other members of the team, which was a blast. Great people. So yes, I'm working again. I think we have only one trip left, and I'll be coming back to Chicago on 15th of August. Can't believe how fast it all went by.

I'm sorry my gallery remains silent. I will upload a pile of sketches I did so far probably, but with my job it might be a while until I do something else. My priority is still on writing, which I've been doing a lot of recently aside of the movie drawing. It's maybe 70% done, not including the editing, and much longer so far than I anticipated, considering it's a 'half prequel' sort of thing.

As far as drawing goes, I was also considering taking up some online classes in environment design - perhaps over at cg society. Their prices seem most attractive so far . Now it all depends on when the next class would start as the deadline for current enrollment is in few days. Or maybe someone could recommend me a good, not too expensive, course?

Also, for the past few months I've been growing fonder of the idea of buying a cintiq, but with all the bigger ones getting new releases, and considering how 12 is archaic, I don't know if getting one anywhere close to the actual price is worth it. I don't suppose anyone has a decently preserved one they would be willing to let go for a fair price?

Lastly, those who recently picked up some of my adoptables.
Since I don't really have time to keep track of the deadline I've decided to give you an extra week or so. After that I'm putting them back up or just forgetting

So it's been a month and a half since I came to England. Can't believe how time flies. I've been having great time day to day with , and now I'm about to continue my work as an 'art director' aka head of the design team, for the Troll movie. I'm also finally going to meet the director, so I'm preparing for a trip to BAFTA in London. Let's hope weather's nice for sightseeing afterward.

I want to apologize for terrible lack of artwork on my account. I've done some doodling, but I doubt I'll upload anything in the next few weeks. I'm still not sure when I'm going home, but I'm looking at first half of August, so we'll see.

So, due to the lack of artistic activity I've decided to do one of those 'ask me anything' journals. Not sure how many people actually participate in those, but I'll be here if anyone's interested. I'll try to answer what I can.

Hello everyone!

I thought I'd update on what's going on as I feel terrible for being so inactive. So today is exactly a month since I arrived in England. I've been spending a lot of time with my dear boyfriend getting to know some of the places, his hometown, nearby cities and towns. But so far I think the 37km trail was most memorable in visual terms, mostly because I spent my entire life on flat ground and cities, compared to tons of hills and amazing views.

We're preparing for another trip tomorrow, after what I will be meeting up with one of the directors I worked, and will continue to work with in 2 weeks or something like that. So, so far this year has been pretty busy and exciting. I'm eager to hear what is exactly in store for me this time around, eager to open ps again and do some work, and also curious as to when I can buy my ticket back home. I believe I should be back in first week of August or so.

Anyway, hope you're having a good weather. Mine could be a little more sunny
