Updates, commissions, music?

Perhaps there aren't that many things to update on as... well not much has changed so far be it personal life, or professional. I think I've mentioned that the animated movie I worked on is officially on hold and I'm not sure what will happen next. With that in mind I have returned to commissions. It's coming along alright for the time being, though I hope to get my foot back in the professional industry sometime soon.

As I mentioned sometime ago, one of my books is now finished and I am currently at the editing stage; hoping to be done and finally publish it, be it traditional or self. Right now, I think I might end up doing it on my own. I don't suppose anyone could point me to a good agent that deals with fantasy?

So, with that nearing completion I am also preparing to send off another copyright application. Lotta drawing, and soon a lot of writing stuff up for another species.

All in all I feel like this might be quite an important year in quite a few aspects of my life.

Aside of that, I wanted to remind you that commissions are open. I will be open for sketch busts for 6$ temporarily as well. Just follow the instructions in the tab above : )

And lastly -  and that's mostly to people who like soundtracks, celtic, epic music - I thought I'd share this rather inspiring piece done by one of my favourite youtube composers.

If anyone knows more music like that, do share if it's not too much of a problem : )

Well congrats on finally getting to the editing stage! That's a huge accomplishment! Sounds like you are finally getting to the goals you wanted.

As for celtic music, Pretty much the entire soundtrack of Final Fantasy: The Crystal Chronicles is heavily celtic inspired. Though it may not be what you are looking for exactly.

Ah it was just a suggestion, there are better celtic songs out there anyway.

What sort of details and things would you need in order to get your races copyrighted, it's not specific pieces of work, how does it work exactly?

Heh, might have to commission you again xD

Anything you can draw to depict your race really. Variations among individuals, colors, shots from different angles, maybe expressions. And then a lot of written info. Biology, culture, everything you know of them.

If someones art style were to drastically change or something like anatomical changes about a character or race would that require a new copyright or will the thing always be the same as long as the written info hasn't changed? I always wondered how that worked. The world of copyrighting is probably the most complex thing in the world to me lol

I was asking the same about updating the copyright on ..well updated designs. Apparently that would be a separate one. Though as far as I know you can start by copyrighting in volumes. So for my easkulls I just wrote vol 1 on application title as well as the ref sheets.

Oh that's kinda neat, so you would have their whole thing copyrighted in timelines sorta, and even older designs can still be safe I take it? Sucks you would have to pay a whole fee every time just for some minor tweaking though.

Yea that's what i'm understanding from all of this. And that's what one other person on DA did and told me about. The older one does keep the copyright yes.
