In search for music once more.

I keep noticing I am losing the emotional and creative response to some of my older songs, be it rock or orchestral or celtic. Aside of other factors I guess I just listened to them to death with a long break in searching for more in between.

If you know anything orchestral in flavor of Howard Shore, Jeremy Soule (Skyrim Specifically cos it has similar feel to Lotr), or Joris de Man (Horizon Zero Dawn) any orchestral that has depth, character and themes to it (not just a constant booming orchestral noise as some of the more numerous pieces out there) would you share some links or titles? Can be movie ost, can be games, can be independent composers by all means. I do enjoy a wintery feel of violin/strings and harp just an example, something that helps with fantasy/world building motivation for sure.

Thanks

These 2 has a mixture of violin and piano that i'm listening right now to evoke sad feelings! They are from an anime series called Your lie in April.

If you are interested in the above two, you can check out this playlist with selected osts similar to the ones above

I'm not 100% sure it's what you're looking for but the artist Celldweller has a large variety of music, a good bit of it being instrumental. It tends to be more of space kind of music but there are some that are different. You'd have to search the various albums because some are different than others at times. It may not be what you need at the moment but it's good for other moods. Hope it helps somewhat.

As terrible as the movies are, Transformers has some great music - Steve Jablonsky is awesome. Arrival to Earth is the most popular one, and is regularly used as the Autobots theme in the movies - www.youtube.com/watch?v=4H0JDo…

Pandora is a great website to discover similar music with, if you haven't tried that.

Also some of the coolest things are watching/listening to sailors singing shanties from a distance. www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8s_Z1… "sailors singing sea shanty" brings up similar results.

Good luck in finding more music! I know all too well how it feels to just lose interest in things you used to enjoy.

First movie is definitely the best. I have a difficult love/hate relationship with all the Bayformer movies, haha.

And you're welcome! I like helping people find new stuff.

If you want great orchestral music, check out the group Les Friction. Incredible orchestral scores mixed with rock elements and clear male vocal styles. If they're to your liking, also try The Spiritual Machines, which is a similar group.

If you also enjoy more extreme metal themes, check out the band Mechina, which is a hybrid orchestral and extreme metal project with a grand multi-album concept story.

Well I'd recommend them. Their lyrics are based more on mythology and paganism.

I feel silly posting this, but I make music (mostly based off of my D&D campaign I play in). Perhaps you can find something you like from what I've made?
www.youtube.com/user/CrocMuse - My channel
youtu.be/XuDkgvQCt8k - That wintery theme you were asking about
